Die Musiker kommen völlig ohne Schlagzeug und elektronische Effekte aus. Unplugged heiß bei der Seldom Sober Company noch ursprüngliche, mitreißende Musik in hoher musikalischer Qualität und mit einem humorvollen Augenzwinkern darzubieten. Die unvergleichliche Stimmung irischer Pub-Musik wird in ihren Konzerten authentisch übertragen. Mit dem halleschen Geiger Toni Geiling, der 2001 den Deutschen Folkförderpreis gewann, verfügt Seldom Sober Company über einen Musiker, der selbst mehrere Jahre in Irland musizierte und somit echtes Irish-Folk-Feeling in die Band einbringt. Die kräftige Stimme und das beeindruckende Banjospiel des Frontmanns Nick O'Tailor prägen den Sound von Seldom Sober Company maßgeblich. Ergänzt durch Kontrabass, Mandoline und ein perkussionsvolles Gitarrenspiel entsteht ursprüngliches, unverwechselbares Klangbild, dem man sich kaum entziehen kann. The "Seldom Sober Company" started of as a project for pubs in 2003. Meanwhile it has developed into a band that has been a major hit with audiences of festivals and open airs around Germany and its surrounding countries. They play hand made, authentic Irish Folk music and close Folk styles like Scottish- and Finish Folk, Bluegrass and of course some original material. With acoustic instruments like violin, guitar, mandolin, singing, banjos, bouzouki, Scottish pipes and on bigger stages a double bass the "Seldom Sober Company" celebrates the Irish feel in music and offers a well balanced and entertaining show.
